How the hell did I make it to age 40 without ever reading The Earthsea Trilogy? Somebody should just take my geek card away. I feel so ashamed. Anyway, these are fantastic books. I mean, really, really fantastic books that should be on the same shelf with Tolkien.
I'm not kidding. They are easier to read than Tolkien, and coming in at about 200 pages each, they aren't nearly as long. They are perfect for kids, except maybe fundie kids whose parents won't approve of a pretend world filled with wizards with Taoist world view.
