Grilled Cheese Without The Grill

- Grab two pieces of bread.
- Stick them in the toaster on whatever setting you prefer. I go with all the way to the right.
- When the toast pops up slap your cheese between the slices of toast.
- Microwave the sandwich until the cheese is melty good. It's 17 seconds in my microwave.
- Eat that bad boy.
If you want to be pedantic, and being the Internet that is pretty much a given, this is probably a toasted cheese and not a grilled cheese. Then again, 95% of the grilled cheese sandwiches are probably made in a frying pan and not on a grill anyway, so...
This may be obvious to you, but it never occurred me to do it this way until I saw it mentioned in the Internet somewhere last year. I kept meaning to try it, but muscle memory would kick in and I would have the sandwich in the frying pan before remembering I wanted to try it this way.
The bread stays toasty and doesn't get soggy, it's quick, there is no pan to clean up, and you can watch the microwave and pull it out at exactly the stage of melty goodness you prefer.
There is no downside here.
