Memorial Day in a Pandemic

Posted on 05/25/2020 in misc

Like everybody else, the pandemic is "top of mind" 24 x 7 for me. I'm writing to help myself not internalize all of it. You can find other posts in the series at https://odonnellweb.com/pelican/tag/coronavirus.html

Every year on 9-11 the names of the victims* are read aloud at the 9-11 memorial. It takes 3 hours.

If somebody started reading the names of people killed by Covid-19 in the US so far it would take 4 days.

I wonder if we'll ever bother to build a memorial to those killed by a liberal media hoax?

Never forget...that our leaders chose this outcome. Nobody has died in Vietnam from the virus. Life is Taiwan is pretty much back to normal. They wear masks and mostly go about daily life. Thousands are still dying daily in the US, and it is going to spike again as we've given up even trying.

Enjoy your BBQ today.

*US victims only. Nobody here cares about the 500,000+ that died in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan as we lost yet other war.

I like hearing from readers, all three of you! Nobody comments on blogs anymore, and I'd rather not use Facebook or Twitter as a comment system so it's back to the email.
