I wasn't planning on getting remarried today

Like everybody else, the pandemic is "top of mind" 24 x 7 for me. I'm writing to help myself not internalize all of it. You can find other posts in the series at https://odonnellweb.com/pelican/tag/coronavirus.html

It was 72 and sunny here today. My strategy for outside time is to get away from Richmond. We drove about 45 minutes north of downtown to Zoar State Forest. There were only two cars in the parking lot. There isn’t anything there, but it validated my theory that State Forests might be overlooked destinations. Until this week, I wasn’t really aware that VA managed any forests on its own. Zoar is a small one, only 378 acres, and it’s really not much of a forest. But it was green space and free of many other people, so win-win.

Then this evening we joined friends on Zoom as they renewed their wedding vows on their anniversary. The officiant offered the attendees the opportunity to join the ceremony, and that is how today, in the 28th year and 257th day of our marriage, we renewed our vows dressed in Iron Maiden and Richmond Kickers t-shirts.

I like hearing from readers, all three of you! Nobody comments on blogs anymore, and I'd rather not use Facebook or Twitter as a comment system so it's back to the email.
