Coronavirus March 31

Posted on 03/31/2020 in misc

Like everybody else, the pandemic is "top of mind" 24 x 7 for me. I'm writing to help myself not internalize all of it. You can find other posts in the series at https://odonnellweb.com/pelican/tag/coronavirus.html

March 2020 was the longest year of my life. And I suspect April is going to be much worse. Buckle up cowboys and cowgirls, it’s going to be a wild ride in America. As far as I know we all got through March healthy, so that qualifies as winning in the hell world we live in now. One month down, who the fuck knows how many more to go.

It was 77 and sunny yesterday, 50 and rainy today. Hello Spring, welcome to Virginia. The cold and dark day seems to fit my mood. I am seriously not feeling “it” today. It is the first day in about a week that I didn’t get any outside time. Maybe that has something to do with it. I also learned that an associate from my work world died suddenly yesterday (not Covid-19 related, AFAIK). In his wife’s FB post she mentioned that they had been married 28 years. I’ve been married 28 years. Fuck you 2020.

I do have a couple of interesting diversions to share. Alex Baldwin interviewed Butch Walker for about an hour, with Butch playing a few songs too.

Also, this YouTube video, put together from slides taken during a 1959 drive from England to South Africa and back, is fascinating and entertaining.

I like hearing from readers, all three of you! Nobody comments on blogs anymore, and I'd rather not use Facebook or Twitter as a comment system so it's back to the email.
