I think a diploma should actually mean a measurable thing, in particular because I do not like the idea that my kids&#039; diplomas will be considered equal to the diploma from other states, including whichever state is &quot;last&quot; in rankings this year...

But I do agree the whole obsession of measuring every level of edumication is wrong and does not serve the kids or us well and totally misses the point of school...

Maybe something like certifications like professional certifications we deal with IRL... So we have some base level of confidence that the kids learned enough to function in life, but kids can pick up specialized certifications or more certs of they want to go further???

Like you, I could blab for hours about how messed up our current obsession with &quot;fixing&quot; schools is... too many possible problems... too many ideas to fix it...]]></description>
