This week, but not with David Brinkley (#1)

I’m shamelessly stealing this post format from Rude Cactus, because as should be very evident to anyone still reading, I’m pretty much out of ideas.

The week in beer: It was a draft Yuengling kind of week. First at the Purdue Club of DC happy hour, then at the newly re-opened pub 1 mile from my house.

This week’s big event: My daughter flew to Texas with the VA Horse Judging Team to compete in the Youth World Championships. She already has a national championship (both team and individual) from last year. Can they add a World Championship this year?

The week’s tube time: The Wonder Years. We are almost done with season 2. It’s funnier now that I’ve got 30 years between me and Junior High. It may have hit too close to home when it was originally broadcast.

The week in books:
I finished RedShirts, the new novel by John Scalzi. Funny, insightful, and full of the sort of meta-humor you would expect from a book by him with that title. Given that is is DRM free, I bought the Kindle version.

The week in music: Lita Ford’s new record. Really. I’m not kidding.

The week in Podcasts: There is a new Hardcore History out. I’m deep into learning all about Genghis Khan.

Hardcore History with Genghis Khan and no Sick Of It All? Can’t be very accurate.
