Father’s Day Wrap Up

Michelle wanted to see Rock Of Ages Saturday night. I suffered so you don’t have to. It was bad, and not in a so-bad-it’s-good sort of way like Xanadu or Footloose. It’s bad in an OMG-we-are-only-30-minutes-in-and-I-want-to-kill-myself sort of way.

I got a ukulele for Father’s Day. I’ve never played any musical instrument in my life. I did get it tuned and teach myself 3 chords yesterday, so I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. Apparently I can play 100s of songs once I master those three chords. Keep an eye on YouTube ;)

I also got to sit in the shade at the farm and read while Delaney rode Skip. I’m not done yet, but I’ll go ahead now and proclaim RedShirts by John Scalzi an awesome book. Speaking of books, we also hit the used bookstore and I picked up a few Fletch and Travis McGee novels as I want to expand my reading beyond my current mix of sci-fi and non-fiction. So I’m going to give the hard boiled detective story a try. Feel free to offer suggestions.

I say that like anybody actually reads this.

Wish I could help, but I’ve read only one detective novel in my life.
