The bill in question grants the govt the right to spy on citizens without a warrant, and also grants the telecom companies retroactive immunity for cooperating with the government to execute warrant less searches. Could anything be more un-American?

Well, I can think of more unamerican things, but this is unamerican enough to give me reason to not bother to vote in this election.
I find the idea that someone thought that the video would be compelling for the American people almost more frightening than the law itself. What a disconnect from reality.
That douchey background music is reason enough, even without the laughably overhyped and inaccurate content.

Wow. What a load of . . . something. Obviously they imagine that dramatic music will make most people give up their essential freedoms. Maybe they’re right–but they aren’t getting my vote either. Yikes.
Unfortunately, the warrant-less wiretapping activity has a decent amount of bipartisan support, particularly in the Senate. Thank you, Democratic party, for restoring the checks and balances system of our government.
I’ve been following this story rather closely since the original whistleblower report, and the technical details of the equipment that they’re using make it evident that they’re not just “targeting the terrahists”.
