CBS Hatchet Job on Homeschoolers

CBS news took one tragic isolated story of an abusive family that happens to homeschool and uses it to paint us all as a threat to our children. It’s a good thing nobody actually watches the CBS Evening News anymore.

This just supports the point I keep making that homechoolers are better off out of the limelight. The more we throw it in the face of the establishment that homeschooling rocks, the more we should expect this sort of treatment from the establsishment. Make no mistake, the mainstream press is part of the establishment. They gave up the 4th pillar watchdog role many years ago.

    I’ve made this same point at homeschooling conferences, but few seem to agree with me that quiet revolutions are the most effective. Of course, I don’t listen to my own advice — spent half an hour on the phone today with a woman doing a piece on unschooling for a North Jersey paper …
